Two mastodons share the football gaming scene. On one hand FIFA (EA Sports) and on the other PES (Konami), and they both try to take the lead every year. EA Sports managed to pull off a major deal by signing a partnership with the two legendary Milan: Internazionale and AC Milan. These two clubs will only appear exclusively in the upcoming FIFA 21 this year.
The FIFA - PES match
While both games offer their own gameplay and graphics, exclusive partnerships are also good ways to stand out. For a while, PES was lagging far behind its competitor, as the teams (names and badges) but also the players were not faithful to reality.
In PES 2020 , Liverpool and Real Madrid are called Liverpool R and Madrid Chamartin B. As for the players, the oldest will remember Robertos Larcos (Roberto Carlos) and Michael Kruger (Michael Ballack). Since then, PES is gradually catching up, as proved by the recent exclusive partnership signed with the Juventus F.C, this year's Italian champions, with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Having fake names doesn't spoil the game per se, but it's always nicer to be able to play with real players and real teams rather than their copy.
The partnership with Inter and AC Milan
The two clubs share many things: the city and the stadium, and now a partnership with EA Sports. This means that we will only find them in the next FIFA 21 (scheduled for October 9) and not in the next PES. The duration of the partnership has not been revealed, but we know that it is a long-term contract. In addition to the names of the teams, FIFA will also have the players and the stadium in great detail, as well as their complete equipment.
In the opposite direction, AS Roma, for its part, fell into the hands of PES. In FIFA 21, the team will be called ROMA FC.
