Psyonix has announced their new mobile game, Sideswipe, which will keep the core identity of Rocket League, with a new perspective that makes it more suitable for mobile gaming.
The games will be fast-paced, with two minute long 1v1 or 2v2 matches.
Just like Rocket League, the game will feature a garage filled with car customisation.
Players can expect a ranking system for more competitive play. It also looks like Rocket League Sideswipe will feature game modes similar to that of the PC game, with clips of Hoops shown as well as the standard mode.
Rocket League Sideswipe will launch this year for free on iOS and Android. Starting today, players in Australia and New Zealand can join the Alpha Test; with news on future Betas in other regions coming over the coming months.
Psyonix was acquired by Epic Games in 2019, and became a free-to-play game. Since its release, Rocket League has had more than 75 million players. Rocket League Sideswipe will help expand this player base, and open more opportunities for players.
