Many exciting things are coming to Pokémon GO. Starting today, different Pokémon will be making their debut and other features will be added to already available ones.
For starters, during the first two weeks and a half of the season (until June 17), Regirock, Regice and Registee will be back in five-star raids. After this time period, an unannounced Pokémon will make its appearance in five-star raids. Regarding Mega Raids, they will have one Mega-Evolved Pokémon every time.
Then, some Pokémon are changing areas. Alolan Rattata, Magnemite and Porygon will be more frequent around cities, while Bellsprout, Doduo, Skorup and others will appear around far-off forests. Mountains will be a nice spot to catch a Rhyhorn, Nosepass or a Dwebble and you will notice more Pokémon such as Magikarp, Marill and Wailmer around bodies of water.
This time around, Pokémon will be hemisphere exclusive, too. For example, Alolan Diglett, Staryu, Barboach, Petilil, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Sableye, Scyther, and Combee will be in the northern hemisphere. Southern trainers will be able to catch creatures such as Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Vulpix, Shellder, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Lickitung, Chimecho, and Cubchoo.
The Season of Discovery will end on September 1. You can read more details about Eggs and the rest of the event here.
