Pokémon GO has been around for a few years and Niantic continues to make it more and more accessible by adding various features to help players have the most optimal experience possible. This is the case with exploration tracking, for example, or even the addition of widgets. It is moreover on this second point that we wish to return in this news.
Adding widgets to Pokémon GO
If you don't know what a widget is, it's simply an application that you can put on your home screen of your phone, for example, and which allows you to access certain data without necessarily directly launch the applications concerned. You can have it for the weather, E-mails or even the agenda, but also for games like Pokémon GO. At the moment, the mobile game offered by Niantic offers us a single widget that allows us to follow the evolution of the eggs present in incubators and thus know if they will hatch or not. This application, although minimal, remains very useful for players using exploration tracking since they are not obliged to launch the game in order to discover the remaining distance to hatch an egg.
Soon a widget for Pokémon buddies?
If we were talking about widgets, it was not for nothing. Indeed, Niantic will launch another application that you can add to your home screen to make it easier for you again. This time it's a widget for Pokemon buddies. This feature, which allows you to have hearts or to recover candies after a certain number of kilometers traveled, will therefore no longer require you to launch the game to find out the distance necessary to have a candy with your partner. It will also allow you to see if you have acquired the hearts by walking around with your Pokémon as well as its presence gauge at your side which fills up by feeding it.
If you are waiting for this feature, you should know that it should arrive very soon since according to the game's official website, it is supposed to be released at the beginning of May so expect to have it in the next few days.
A Widget for gifts, the good idea?
With the arrival of these two widgets on Pokémon GO, a multitude of other possibilities could come to mind, but in our case, there are one or two that would be really appreciable. The first would be to be able to open the gifts directly and the second to validate the study phase tasks directly via a widget without having to restart the game just for that. Is it laziness or just an optimization to save time? It's up to you to judge, but these are ideas that could perhaps see the light of day.
