Baldur's Gate 3: Companions
Here's the information we have on the five original characters / known companions in the game. Note that they can completely leave your group, or even attack you, if they do not appreciate your actions. Their personal stories can take different turns depending on your actions and circumstances.
Astarion
A rogue high-elf turned into a vampire, condemned to serve a cruel master for centuries. He now has the ability to live in broad daylight and to expose himself to the sun, thanks to the mind flayer tadpole inside him. His story seems to turn on his true identity, his thirst for blood, and the turn that his relationship will take with his master vampire.
Shadowheart
A half-elf priestess of Shar, the evil Goddess of Darkness. She was sent on a suicide mission to steal an item with great power. On one hand, she questions her own faith, and on the other, she seems to have a strange and uncontrolled magic. In any case, she has enemies from all sides, as well as an ancient secret to discover.
Gale
This human magician has only one ambition: to become the greatest mage that Faerun has ever known. But his thirst for magic has led to disaster, and a Netherese Orb of Destruction is now beating in his chest with a countdown that will trigger an explosion capable of wiping out an entire city. Gale is confident in his ability to overcome this ordeal, but time is not on his side.
Lae'zel
This experienced Githyanki warrior is formidable and fierce, even by the standards of her race. She's slowly turning into one of the monsters she has sworn to destroy, and she must prove that she is worthy of finding her people, if they don't execute her before.
Wyll
This human sorcerer was born into a noble family. He then forged himself a heroic name as "Blade of Frontiers". But he keeps the fact of having made a pact with the devil well hidden, and he desperately seeks to escape from this infernal contract — even if that implies rescuing the creature with which he was signed.
