As everyone knows, the Baldur's Gate saga which started in 1998 is about to welcome its third episode. The isometric 2D role-playing game inspired by the Forgotten Realms and Dungeons and Dragons, Baldur's Gate III, has been announced by the Belgian studio Larian for a still undetermined date on PC and Stadia. But what about a possible port to PS4 and Xbox One?
During an interview with Eurogamer, Executive Producer David Walgrave gave his opinion on the matter. He believes that it would be difficult to run the game correctly on these machines given the technical optimizations made with their engine. For a port to be possible, the graphics would have to be heavily downgraded.
He doesn't close the door completely, but reminds us that Larian Studios focuses on PC and Stadia. However, he didn't mention the PS5 and the Xbox Series X.
