Just picked up Veigar in Wild Rift and need a few pointers?
Read our guide and you'll be a master of the midlane in no time!
Runes
Thanks to his passive, Veigar essentially has infinite scaling. The longer the game goes on, the stronger he will be - and if it's really long, you could even break the 1000 AP mark.
However, you'll need something to get started, and Electrocute is a great option given Veigar will typically land three spells in quick succession if played right.
Gathering Storm in red, meanwhile, allows Veigar to scale even faster as the game progresses.
In green, we've gone with Adaptive Carapace, an almost essential rune on mages who tend to be susceptible to ganks and assassinations.
Finally, the Manaflow Band in blue is key to a bountiful mana pool. The last thing you want is to run out in the middle of a teamfight.

Main Items
The items you buy in game will vary heavily from match to match, depending on what composition the enemy team is running.
We've put together a list of the most important items for Veigar, ranked by their effectiveness. Items in bold are must-have items that you'll opt for in most, if not all, of your matches on this champion.
Tips & Tricks
- Baleful Strike is your bread-and-butter poke, as it's inexpensive to cast and difficult to dodge. This is the polar opposite of Dark Matter!
- Dark Matter does shine, however, in the lategame, as you can use it to quickly clear waves of minions and facilitate lane pushing.
- Event Horizon is one of the most powerful crowd control abilities in the game. It's great for securing ganks, blocking enemy gap closers, and escaping if needs be. If you can't see the enemy jungler on the map, hold it in reserve -- it may just save your life.
