Released in June 2013 The Last of Us Part 1 is above all an adventure game with a story taking an important place in your experience, but for all that, the game does not tell you everything during your first game. Between the many collectibles, the hidden discussions or the many pendants, part one of The Last Of Us can give a hard time to exploration fans and collectors.
Announced for September 2, 2022, Naughty Dog's game will be entitled to a facelift. A remake is in the works. With a smarter AI and a Speed Run mode integrated into the game, it seems that the studio wants to bring this opus back to life and what better way to do this than to dive back into one of the game's best hidden details?
Even nine years after its release, fans might never have heard of the Easter Egg we feature in this guide: the Infected Ant.
Do not panic if you have not yet played the game or its remake, this Easter Egg will not spoil a gram of the story since it is not directly related to any character, unless you decide to give a name to the little ant of course.
The infected ant may be talking to you, indeed, it was during an advertising video posted before the game was released in 2013 that Playstation had shared more information on the world of the game. It was explained that the famous mushrooms contaminate people and put me in danger. This video also made it possible to follow the progress of the infection on a test ant. Well, this ant was later used in the game's official artbooks, becoming a mascot for the game's release.
This ant did not stop at the artbook, however, since it is also quite simply present directly in the game, and this from the start. You'll probably pass it when you first experience The Last of Us, but believe me, it's there, hidden away in Joel and Sarah's house.
To unlock this Easter Egg you will therefore have to start setting it up as soon as you can play Sarah. Once you can start moving, you'll need to go downstairs but be careful, don't open the bedroom door.

If you opened the door, the TV would give lore, then cut out with interference.
Once down, you will unlock a checkpoint, so you can save and return to the game's main menu. Be careful if you don't have autosave. Once on the main menu, be careful to choose continue to return to the game, choosing to start the encounter again would incapacitate the Easter Egg.

This Easter Egg was discovered by Anthony Caliber, a speedruner who has put in a huge amount of time on The Last of Us and only shared this detail last year. It would seem that even for fans of the license, this ant was a little too well hidden.
The Easter Egg is available on both PS3 with the base game and the PS4 via the remastered, so it looks like the planets are aligned for the little infected ant to return to this year's remake, in HD so .
This new edition of The Last of Us Part 1 promises to delight fans and newcomers and one can only wonder what the differences will be with the original game.
Are there any secrets and other Easter Eggs in the game and have you found any yourself? Please let us know in the comments.
