Square Enix have revealed some new information about Final Fantasy VII Remake.
After a trailer of more than four minutes last week, the Japanese publisher invites us to discover more about almost every aspect of the game: new zones, new character renders, a little preview of the quests... there's plenty to do!
Renders: Hojo and Red XIII
These two central characters of the game were unveiled in the latest gameplay trailer published a few days ago.
Both of them have been given a facelift from their 1997 chibi models: Nanaki seems to have already encountered a few complicated trials in his life, while Professor Hojo fits perfectly into his profile as a dark and mad scientist.
Tifa in action
The 7th Heaven owner will have plenty of time to show off her fighting skills during the adventure.
Fast, agile, powerful, Tifa has a range of abilities. By completing one of her fast Triangle combos, she'll unleash some of her most powerful moves in battle.
Once her ATB gauge is full, Tifa can also unleash the next two attacks:
Side Quests
Mercenary Quests
As a good mercenary, Cloud will be able to pick up requests from the residents of the Sector 7 slims, in exchange for many rewards.
It's a fairly standard system of sidequests, so there's nothing much more to be said at this point.
Chadley's Report
Professor Hojo's assistant will help you develop your Materias by analyzing your fighting habits, and propose many challenges related to the use of magic. The more you fill up, the more his shop will be filled with new materials.
Summons, pre-order bonus
This new batch of information about FF7 Remake also contains details about the pre-order bonus summons.
Materias
- Deadly Dodge: This Materia transforms every attack after a dodge into a powerful melee technique.
- Heal: All healing spells make a comeback, even regen, magic used below by Aeris that gradually restores the target's HP.
New areas
- Mako Reactor: One of the huge buildings that allows the Shinra to convert Mako energy into electricity and fuel. It's also the first place you will explore in the game.
- Corkscrew Tunnel: Midgar's subway tunnels are labyrinthine and infested with pests, however, this is likely to be the first area in which you'll be able to control Tifa.
The bat is back
One of the most absurd weapons of Final Fantasy 7 makes its big comeback in this remake. The appearance of the weapon will change during and outside of combat.
