League of Legends vs Wild Rift: Skin drama is never-ending

League of Legends vs Wild Rift: Skin drama is never-ending

Although the upcoming release of Wild Rift has been celebrated by many of the more traditional League of Legends players, there is one aspect that is starting to annoy the community — differences in the artistic design of skins.

League of Legends vs Wild Rift: Skin drama is never-ending

League of Legends: Wild Rift is close to completing its final pre-launch testing. We're learning more and more about this new version of League of Legends for mobiles and consoles — but as new content becomes known, the situation worsens in regards to comparing the artistic design.

This version of the game is far outpacing the original in some ways, and the community is not happy.

One thing Riot has been accused of in the ten years of the game is champion neglect — there are still some champions that have remained practically the same for more than seven years, not even receiving a visual update.

With Wild Rift this focus has been a must for Riot, who couldn't possibly launch its new game with outdated models. As such, most champions have had to be changed.

What's bothering players is not that in itself, but that there is no similar plan to bring League of Legends' PC version up to date in a similar way.

Even the splash arts for champions have been tweaked, and look much better in Wild Rift:

Gothic Orianna skin shows no comparison between the new and the old - Wild Rift

It remains to be seen whether Riot decides to do a total overhaul of the PC version of the game in the same way.
