TNC Predator and T1 make roster changes in wake of Major qualifiers

The ever-turbulent roster swaps of the Dota 2 scene continued today with two teams tinkering at their lineups. Both TNC Predator, a prominent Southeast Asian team, and T1, a true mastodont in the esports industry as a whole, have dropped players following qualifier matches for the next Pro Circuit Major they were aiming to win.

TNC Predator is letting go of Kim "Febby" YongMin and Damien "kpii" Chock. kpii had been with the team since September 2019, but Febby's stint with the organization was far shorter: he joined as a coach in early 2020, but only this year he had been on the roster as a player. Still, some changes were bound to happen after the team did not manage to qualify for the Singapore Major.

A far more surprising change came from T1. The team finished third in their region, and had earned themselves a ticket to the Singapore Major. Nevertheless, the team decided to drop Souliya “JaCkky” Khoomphetsavong, who was considered to be a core member of the team and a large contributor in their success.

On social media, T1 was met with a large dose of criticism for their decision. With JaCkky being let go after the team's qualification for the tournament, he will not be eligible to earn any Dota Pro Circuit points from the event even if he finds a new roster to play for. Given the timing, it's highly unlikely any major organization can and will still pick him up for the remainder of the season, meaning he'll have to wait until the second season in order to compete at the highest level again.
