How to find and climb the Walking Mausoleum in Elden Ring

Elden Ring is all about exploring and you might end up facing these giant moving turtles, here's where to find them and climb on top.

Among the most unusual encounters in the world of Elden Ring are the various mausoleums that roam the lands. They are very easy to spot because of their size and the giant bell hanging under their belly.

How to stop the giant turtles in Elden Ring

These Turtles are not agressive monsters and don't have an actual health bar. You can pass below without great risk. The only dangerous thing around these is to be stepped on.

To force this monster to theground, you have to break the white spots on its legs. The easiest way is to approach with a fast weapon like a dagger or one-handed sword and do a quick spot swipe as you go around. You can also do it on horseback, although the loss of precision is a bit of a pain.

Mausoleum contents and reward

Let's start with the bad news, if you haven't beaten a region lord like this brave Godrick yet, the mausoleum has nothing to offer you. The sarcophagus inside allows you to duplicate a memory left by these bosses and the power that goes with it, even if you have already used it .

First Mausoleum

The second mausoleum you will come across does not have the white spots on its legs. As shown in the video above, the solution is to use the airstream to the left to reach the top of the cliff, then jump onto the roof. Then just go down on the edges of the mausoleum to destroy the stains on the building. It's simple when you know what to do. Another mausoleum in the game will ask you to do the same thing, that of Fondroot, but it will be more complicated, since you will have to climb on branches.

Second and Third Mausoleums

The second region of the game has 3 mausoleums, and they all have special features. The other two are in the northeast part of the area, in the ruins of the Palace. The white spots are on their feet this time, but they have the annoying tendency to... jump, it surprises the first time. They will regularly jump, and cause an immense shock wave upon landing. It is therefore strongly advised to do them on horseback in order to get away quickly.
