The first nerfs were announced barely a week after the arrival of Descent of Dragons in Hearthstone. The Shaman Galakrond deck was ultra-dominant in the meta, and nothing seemed to be able to resist it. Blizzard reacted very quickly by nerfing some of the most important cards in patch 16.0.5. Corrupt Elementalist, Sludge Slurper and Mogu Fleshshaper were all on edge, as was the Faceless Corrupter, one of the most prominent neutral cards in the metagame, whose stats were slightly reduced.
On Twitter, Lead Card Designer Dean Ayala announced a new balancing patch on the game. While we don't know exactly what the impacted cards will be yet, we already have some ideas of what will happen in the following weeks.
The main focus of the teams will be Galakrond. His power level has proved, in various decks and classes, to be too high compared to what it should have been, making him stronger than necessary. One example is Galakrond Shaman, who remains very strong despite the nerfs that have impacted him. Two other decks should be affected, in a lighter way: the Pirate Warrior and the Deathrattle Rogue, both very powerful in the current meta.
Some changes should also impact Battlegrounds in the same patch. Some heroes should receive changes. Dean Ayala says that there are still many plans to modify and balance the game mode in the next 2-3 months.
