Black Ops Cold War: Open Alpha revealed for ALL PS4 players

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War tells the story of an age-old conspiracy, culminating in the early 1980s in the heat of the Cold War. This is a direct sequel to the original Black Ops game and picks up where the first game left off, with Alex Mason, Frank Woods and Jason Hudson joining forces with a new group of Agents to unravel a global terrorist plot.

Exploring the Cold War represents the perfect playground for powerful weapons, secret spies, and a return to form with Treyarch and Raven Software at the helm

During the PS5 Showcase, both development studios announced that an open alpha will be available for PS4 players without pre-order! PS + is not required and the community will be able to open from September 18th to 20th.

Unfortunately, for Xbox One and PC players no alpha phase has been revealed. However, players will be able to take advantage of an early access beta by pre-ordering a digital edition of the game

Here's a quick summary of the dates for the beta:

  • First weekend - exclusive for PS4 players - October 8th to October 12th
  • Second weekend - PS4, Xbox One and PC - October 15th to October 19th

Note that PS4 players will be able to take advantage of an Open Beta period for the alpha weekend and the opening weekend of the beta.
