The first beta weekend for Black Ops Cold War is underway.
As players get their second chance at playing the new game prior to its release, one player has spotted an unpopular feature that could be making its way back to Call of Duty.
Supply drops first appeared in Advanced Warfare, and offered weapon variants which gave them an advantage over those that were using the standard version of that particular weapon. Since then, supply drops haven't been seen since the remastered edition of Modern Warfare in 2017.
One player has found a message which suggests that they may be returning on the final version of the game, set for release on November 13th.
The supply drop system is in place on Call of Duty: Mobile and generates an extortionate amount of revenue for Activision.
Considering this, the likelihood of supply crates returning to console Call of Duty wouldn't be a surprise.
On the contrary, Treyarch has stated that all post-launch content will be free for all users, so the supply drops may only be for cosmetic items. Either way, we will have to wait until the full release of the game to obtain further details!
