Square Enix, the developer of Marvel's Avengers, announced that the next-gen versions of the game will be delayed until 2021.
"We’ve also made the decision to shift our PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launch to next year to ensure that we give our team the time to deliver a next-gen experience showcasing all that this game is meant to be. More details to come," the company said in a blog post.
Players will still be able to play the current-gen version on next-gen systems, either with the game disc or redownloading it from their digital library.
Cross-gen play and cross saves also work on the newer consoles even if you use the older version of Avengers.
Since its launch, Marvel's Avengers saw an exodus of players, causing matchmaking problems, but Scot Amos recently told Kotaku that plenty of new content is on the way.
Square Enix also said it pushed back Kate Bishop's operation launch out of October.
"We know fans are hungry for new content, but delivering a fun experience is our priority," the company said.
