Just a week after the 2021 Call of Duty League season got underway, Activision Blizzard has opted to postpone the second week of Stage One due to winter storms hitting North America.
With several players based in Texas, where the adverse weather conditions have left millions without power and water, it is impossible for them to compete, leaving the CDL no choice but to postpone the second week of matches.
Despite no matches taking place, the CDL will be revealing an "exciting announcement" surrounding the revised schedule for the rest of Stage One.
The opening weekend of the competition was the most-watched regular-season weekend in the short history of the franchised league. Over 1.3 million viewers tuned in across four days of action to see the 12 franchise teams in action for the very first time in 2021 and on Black Ops Cold War.
The Los Angeles Thieves and Atlanta FaZe were the only two teams to walk away from the first week with two wins under their belts, cementing themselves as the early front-runners.
