T1 is keeping things moving in their Dota 2 roster department. Shortly after they, to some controversy and pushback, let go of Souliya “JaCkky” Khoomphetsavong, they have announced who will be filling the slot: Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon.
23savage, an eighteen-year-old player from Thailand, is considered to be a prodigy and was one of the most coveted free agents available for pick-up. Just yesterday, he became the first player in Dota 2 history to break the mythical 12,000 MMR score, to the astoundment of many colleagues in the scene.
T1 pick up 23savage right as the team is ramping up for the ONE Esports Major in Singapore later this month. Because T1 did release JaCkky after the qualifiers and will not compete in the Major with the same roster they qualified with, T1 will be deducted Dota Pro Circuit points. Still, with the signing of such a young prodigal player, it seems like T1's aim is to profit off 23savage's skills for a long time to come.
The ONE Esports Singapore Major kicks off its Wild Card matches on the 27th of March. The main event's Group Stage starts two days later, and the Playoffs commence on the 31st of March.
