A few days ago we told you about a Director’s Cut version of PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima. This version was spotted by users at ESRB, with no official confirmation from Sony. However, the situation has changed and the official announcement has been made moments ago.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is an updated version that will bring both expected improvements for the PlayStation 5 and new content. A “Ghost of Ikishima” was a rumored standalone title that was being discussed last week. Now we know that this is basically an expansion for the original title, one that will feature a whole new island (Iki Island, a territory near Tsushima) and brand new characters. It wasn’t confirmed if Jin is going to be the protagonist of this tale or not.
Regarding the original game, the Director’s Cut will add some sweet updates and hardware features for PS5 users. For example, now all the cinematics will have perfect lip sync when playing on Japanese. Also, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers will be exclusive of this new version, adding a whole new layer of experience when playing the title.
Other important additions include 3D audio enhancements, better load times and a dynamic 4K resolution option with 60 FPS. It’s worth mentioning that all these features won’t be available on PS4.
Speaking of PlayStation 4, the users of this system will be able to play the new Iki Island content and also enjoy some general updates: an improved photo mode, accessibility options for controller remapping, and, finally, the option to lock-on enemies while in combat.
Now let’s talk about prices. For those who don’t own the original title, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will cost $69.99 on PS5 and $59.99 on PS4. If you do own the original game, the new edition will cost $19.99 for PS4 users and $29.99 for PS5 ones. It will be available on August 20.
