Apparently, a Director’s Cut for Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. At least, it has been listed by the ESRB, the organization that classifies video games according to age recommendations.
Similarly to what happened recently with Death Stranding Director’s Cut, a new version of the acclaimed adventure from Sucker Punch seems to be in the works. However, we already got the official announcement of Death Stranding’s updated version during the Summer Game Fest, while Ghost of Tsushima one has only appeared at the ESRB site.
It’s worth mentioning that PS5 users can already enjoy a 60 FPS patch for the original PS4 title, but no further changes have been added, so it’s interesting to see what new content or options could come out of this “Director’s Cut”.
On another topic, a standalone game from the franchise seems to be in the works. Labelled as “Ghost of Ikishima”, this title would not require Ghost of Tsushima to be played and it will feature a new location (Ikishima, also known as Iki Island).
Ikishima is near Tsushima and it was also invaded by the Mongols. Furthermore, this is the region that Jin would need to clear from invaders after the original game’s story. Nonetheless, it seems that the new expansion would also introduce a new character.
Perhaps we will know more about both Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut and Ghost of Ikishima during the following weeks, in which it’s rumored that a State of Play will take place.
