The start of Warzone Season 4 Reloaded is right around the corner, and with just a few days before the mid-season update begins to roll out across all platforms, Activision and Raven Software have revealed all of the new content coming to the battle royale.
There are a number of new additions being made, including the release of a brand-new submachine gun, several new game modes, and changes to the mysterious Red Doors that first appeared at the start of Season 4.
This article details everything coming to Warzone over the course of Season 4 Reloaded!
New game mode: Payload - available at launch
Inspired by traditional Call of Duty game modes, such as WWII's War mode, Payload pits two teams of 20 players against each other in order to acquire "crucial intel" that could turn the tide of the Cold War.
If the attacking team escorts all vehicles through all checkpoints within the allotted time, they win the game. The defending team must prevent the Payload from reaching its destination, by eliminating nearby opposition or by purchasing blockades and obstacles that will slow the progress of the objective.
This new game mode will be the first objective-based game mode released into the battle royale.
New Event: Blueprint Blitz - Available seasonally
A new type of event will appear in Warzone. Similar to Double XP Weekends, Raven Software plans to activate a new special event, where Contraband contracts appear automatically after completing two regular contracts.
Contraband Contracts give players a permanent weapon blueprint reward, if the objective can be completed.
Blueprint Blitz will give players a chance to earn a lot of weapon blueprints from previous seasons, which is ideal for those that missed out on previous content.
New Weapons: OTS 9 and Mace
The Mace will finally make its appearance in Warzone, alongside a brand-new submachine gun known as the OTs 9.
This new submachine gun is fully automatic, and offers impressive short-range firepower -- which could well spark a huge change in the close-quarters metagame.
New functions for the Red Doors
Although there is minimal information surrounding the new function of the mysterious Red Doors, Raven Software has teased that changes to the fast-travel system are on the way.
"As Perseus sleeper cells are still at large in Verdansk, we caution you to [[REDACTED]]," suggesting that some kind of development in the story is about to take place.
Be sure to stay tuned for all the latest Red Door news, and what the changes could mean leading up to the start of Season 5.
New Killstreak: Sentry Gun
The turret will make its appearance in Warzone, to offer players even more choices when it comes to Killstreak selection.
The Sentry Gun works in a similar fashion to how it works in Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare. It can be placed in all kinds of locations, making it the perfect tool to score kills on the unsuspecting opposition.
Players can find the turret as an extremely rare legendary item, in a supply box at the Red Doors.
