The Twitch Rivals EU war zone showdown is currently taking place, with a nice cash prize of up to $75,000 for each region. Usually these tournaments go off without a hitch, but sometimes there are pitfalls — like hackers, and in this case that hacker happened to be a Twitch affiliated streamer.
Fifakill posted on Twitter about being killed by a cheater, and then being told by an admin that the game could not be restarted — essentially allowing the hacker to continue cheating.
The streamer accused of cheating is named DavskaR, a Czech streamer affiliated with Twitch — with more than 8,000 subscribers to his credit. Several clips showing him using an aimbot, and being allowed to perform despite a number of complaints against him, were posted. For example, YouTuber Jake Lucky from the Esports Talk channel shared a clip showing the streamer using his aimbot.
After serious backlash over the decision to allow DavskaR to continue playing, Twitch launched an investigation and banned the player. His Twitch channel is no longer available on the platform.
