Elden Ring is coming soon but we had the chance to get the game earlier and we've been able to reach the end of it, here's everything about the game's lifespan.
How long is Elden Rings
Main story : The fastest will be able to complete the main scenario (through the end credits) in approximately 30 hours. But that means limiting detours to explore as much as possible, which is a shame all the same, and it promises to be very difficult as a bonus. Your level of play is the first factor in this area, if you are exceptionally good it may take a lot less time. If you have an average level of play or worse, it is possible that certain bosses block you for a very long time due to your character's lack of power. It is more realistic to refer to the times that follow.
World Exploration + Main Story : Once again, this will greatly depend on your level of play, and whether you explore every corner very meticulously or not. If you plan to do the majority of the optional dungeons and discover the majority of the content, count between 60 and 150 hours of play on average. Using multiplayer to defeat final bosses can speed things up a lot.
Validate all the Trophies and (almost) see everything : For a single character, probably count at least 100 hours unless you are incredibly efficient since you have to redo the main campaign several times. For ordinary mortals, this can pass the bar of 150, or even 200 hours and more.
Long Term Lifespan: FromSoftware gaming veterans will tell you that finishing the game is just the beginning of the adventure. You can actively participate in high-level PvP clashes for fun. You can start the adventure again with a new character to play a completely different build, for example spell caster, or Dex, or Force, or even challenge yourself and complete the game without using summons or multiplayer. You can also keep the same character and repeat the game on a loop to climb in the NG+ to test the limits of the difficulty. You can also invest a few years to read the description of all the objects in the game and try to understand its entire history. There's clearly plenty to keep you busy for hundreds and hundreds of hours if you really stick with Elden Ring.
In the end, Elden Ring benefits from a long lifespan, count at least 60 hours to finish the game for the first time by being good and efficient, and probably more than 100 hours if you want to explore the world (dungeons, side quests, optional bosses) but it obviously depends on your game speed. If you are still hesitant and the difficulty scares you, you can take a look at our analysis of the latter, and what has been done to make the title more accessible.
