Since the release of Elden Ring on February 25, players have continued to surprise us. Between those who defeat bosses using the Ring Fit or even a torch it looks like there is no stopping the game's community.
An Elden Ring player called xdc_lis (good luck pronouncing it) on Reddit caught the community's attention by impersonating an NPC during an invasion, leaving his opponent completely lost.
An invasion gone wrong
The player called xdc_lis was playing normally when he was notified that another player had just invaded his game. He had the brilliant idea of killing one of the NPCs present in the area and taking its place!
The invader went back and forth but didn't find the player. The invasion system reveals to players the position of their opponent but does not indicate a specific point or whether the person is up or down. It is quite possible that one of the duelists is in the depths of the Underworld.
The person who invaded the world of xdc_lis ended up saying: "Hey it's me! I saw the compass and I kept following it but I didn't saw the NPCs and I was like 'I guess he's the other way around since he didn't kill them' then I left because I wanted to fight and didn't want to search everywhere and that the compass was pissing me off. Well done!" .
After the video was posted on various social media, user reactions were mixed to say the least. There are those who were amused and those who did not understand the point of allowing invasions and then hiding from their opponents.
"Shouldn't you allow invaders into your world? it sucks to leave the door open so they can experiment with pvp and then hide until they give up," BirdFlox commented.
