For a few years already, the Hearthstone development team — Team 5 — doesn't have any problem to hire talents from the competitive scene of its game. Marcin "Gnimsh" Filipowicz and Keaton "Chakki" Gill joined the team and most recently Cora "Songbird" Georgiou — better known for her commentator talents — did the same officially by joining the Final Design team as Associate Game Designer.
Cora hails from Chicago, Illinois. In 2016, Blizzard really wanted to have a professional broadcast team for Hearthstone. At the same moment, Cora was a radio broadcast major. She recorded herself playing Hearthstone, sent her video to Blizzard and became one of the first commentators of the game, starting with the So You Think You Can contest.
Cora has a Communication degree and has 5 years of experience in the Hearthstone competitive scene as a player for the WSOE and especially in casting professional competitions. However, she will have to make her mark and go through a learning phase, hence her position as Associate Game Designer. She announced that she would continue to cast events if possible.
While we are still in the middle of the transition year planned by Activision Blizzard, it is still interesting to look at the figures announced by the group for the second quarter of 2019 which has just ended.
