In Pokémon, it's possible to catch Shiny, a very rare version of the creatures. You can also catch creatures of a different color called Luma in Temtem.
What's a Luma Temtem?
A Luma Temtem is a Temtem with a color different from its basic color. Because of this, Luma are very rare in the game. Here are some characteristics and what distinguishes them from normal Temtems:
- There's a 1 in 6,000 chance of encountering one in the wild,
- Luma have the advantage of having 3 good statistics (their SVs will be at maximum in 3 random statistics). Strategically these Temtem are rather lucrative.
Note: All Temtems have unique values between 1 and 50 for their stats, but for a Luma, three of these stats will be randomly set to 50 (maximum): a perfect score, which makes the Luma intrinsically more powerful than other Temtems of this type and level.
How to get a Luma
Getting a Luma isn't easy: their powerful and rare nature makes their capture or breeding a "lottery" with a very low chance of success.
Luma hunting in the wild
The best solution is to chain a large number of encounters of the desired Temtem in the wild. This method consists in going to an area where the Temtem is common. Your patience will be your best asset. In early access, all the creatures are not yet available in Luma form so you have to be careful not to hunt just anyone.
Finding a Luma through breeding
Luma breeding is a little different. If you breed two normal Temtem together, the chances of the baby being Luma are the same as if you caught one: 1/6000. However, if one of the parents is already a Luma, the chances of getting a Luma baby increase to 1/600, which is ten times higher than before. If both parents are Luma, the probability increases again to 1/60.
Beware, however, Temtem cannot reproduce infinitely!
Temtem available in Luma form
Currently, in early access, all Temtem (about 80) are available in their shiny version. Be careful however, some are only available by breeding (for those who are not in the wild).
