Where to find Moreau's Hidden Weapon
To reach Moreau's treasure you have to defeat him, otherwise you will not be able to recover it.
Once you're done with your business with Moreau, head to his lab which is directly to your right once you exit the mine. Use the crank and go through all the areas that lead to a secluded house in a cul-de-sac.
How to kill Moreau's Beast
No mystery arises from this treasure, but an atrocious beast will be present at the scene after you steal the treasure from Moreau's laboratory. To destroy it without too much trouble, we advise you to always stay mobile, because the beast will not stop chasing you. To kill him, you can go for pipe bombs or mines, but the Moreau area will give you plenty of grenade launcher missiles to bomb him.
Use the explosive grenades to deal damage to him and if you see that the beast is too much on your ribs, feel free to calm him down by throwing blinding grenades at him. He will be totally confused, so take the opportunity to throw some pipe bombs or go melee with your shotgun if your courage is present.
Or if not, use your new acquisition which will wreak havoc.
The magnum: the best weapon in the game
Use it for the rest of the story, you'll be happy to have it for a particular area! This handgun is great, but don't waste bullets too quickly. It's a weapon of destruction that doesn't have a high ammo drop rate. But if you have lei spilling out of your wallet, why not go with the recipe to make them yourself (only available in new game plus)?
