The 2020 rotation and the arrival of the new Standard Year will, as always, be decisive in Hearthstone.
Three expansions will rotate out of Standard mode (Witchwood, Boomsday Project and Rastakhan's Rumble) and this should create a real revolution.
While they'll still be able for playing in Wild mode, a lot of Hunter cards from the previous expansions are going to leave the Standard mode, meaning that several different archetypes that are currently shaping the meta will be affected — or will even disappear.
Some of these cards weren't really used, but the disappearance from some others will definitely be noticed...
Witchwood
Boomsday Project
Rastakhan's Rumble
Nowadays, the Hunter has turned to his Dragon archetype, made up of cards that mostly come from Descent of Dragons or from the basic set. The loss shouldn't be too great for this deck. However, all Midrange/Quest versions based on board will mourn the loss of Master's Call and Springpaw at the very least.
The Mech Hunter archetype, which wasn't really played recently, should definitely disappear. Only the Highlander Hunter and Dragon Hunter should remain roughly playable after the rotation. Obviously , the Face Hunter will remain almost untouched since the archetype doesn't really need specific cards to be threatening.
