The current global health crisis has had huge impacts on the Overwatch League. After being forced to cancel all homestands to switch to an online format, issues within the organisation and the staff have resulted in the departure of many major members of the League.
Most recently, it was the Canadian team of Vancouver Titans that made headlines by changing their entire roster to sign Overwatch Contenders Korea players, mostly from Second Wind.
All former players are now free agents. The first one to have found a new team to play with for the end of the third season is Kim "SLIME" Seong-joon. He announced on Thursday that he has joined the Seoul Dynasty.
"After I left my team, I contacted other teams and I thought Seoul Dynasty is the team that is closest to my goal, winning the championship."
He also adds that it's easier for him to play with a team based in Asia as he himself lives in South Korea. With all the technical issues that the new online format creates, it's easy to understand that this point was decisive for the player.
No doubt that SLIME will do everything to lead his team to victory. He reached the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals with Vancouver Titans, losing to San Francisco Shock. The next game of the Korean team will be played next Saturday against the Chenghu Hunters.
