Ever since the title of COD 2021 was revealed as WWII: Vanguard, several leaks are beginning to emerge.
According to a new report, the game will run on the same engine that was used for the 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare.
Here's everything you need to know.
VGC states that the game will use the 'IW8' engine which took five years to develop by Infinity Ward's Poland studio.
Find the official description of the IW8 engine below:
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare offers a new engine offering an immersive and photo-realistic experience. The new technology uses the latest advancements in visual engineering. Spectral rendering provides thermal radiation and infrared identification for thermal and nighttime imaging in-game. The technical investment provides a state-of-the-art animation and fusion shapes system, while the new audio tool suite takes Full Dolby ATMOS support, on supported platforms, as well as the latest audio simulation effects. "
This news has been met with plenty of positivity from fans and players. There has been plenty of criticism surrounding Treyarch's engine which runs Black Ops Cold War, with many believing that the IW8 engine is the best engine that has been used to run a Call of Duty title.
While plenty of scepticism surrounding the return to World War 2, there's a strong possibility that this game could be one of the best-looking.
