Despite the body looking dead, Dutton ends up taking some hits from an unknown location. Before they realize that the body is in fact alive, they're sent straight to the Gulag.
The issue is certainly proving annoying, especially for players being caught unawares by an unintentional visual glitch.
It's more than likely that Raven Software is working on some kind of fix to address the issue but until it goes live, pay extra attention when checking a fallen opponent.
