A few days ago, the Call of Duty Vanguard alpha was found in the archives of Battle.net, the platform which players use to play annual Call of Duty titles alongside Warzone.
Codenamed Slipstream, the alpha is likely to be the very first time Call of Duty fans will see the new title in action. Although there has been minimal information surrounding COD 2021, there is a high possibility of the alpha going live for PlayStation players soon, similar to how the Black Ops Cold War alpha went live in 2020.
According to recent leaks, the alpha is expected to be revealed close to the official reveal of the game, rumored to take place in Season 4 of Warzone.
We don't yet know when that event will take place, but it is expected to feature a range of teasers prior to the event beginning in Verdansk.
Although the exact contents of the alpha haven't been revealed, the PlayStation Size Twitter account has managed to uncover its file size.
So far, the total size of the COD 2021 alpha is 35.3GB on PS5. Whenever the alpha goes live, ensure you have room as it's sure to take up a good chunk of space on the hard drive.
Players having access to an alpha is nothing new when it comes to Call of Duty titles. In 2019, the first alpha for a Call of Duty game went live with Modern Warfare and gave players access to the game several months before full release.
Despite the Slipstream alpha being added to the PlayStation database, its release is still several weeks away. More information will be revealed in due course.
