Call of Duty: Vanguard is an important instalment for the long-running franchise, especially where Warzone is concerned.
The latest title will go a long way into turning Warzone into a space free of hackers and cheats, with the advent of new anti-cheat systems as part of the Vanguard update.
There will also be a brand new map coming to the battle royale offshoot.
While other FPS titles, such as Battlefield, have already gone down this route, Activision had been slow in implementing any kind of anti-cheat system -- to the frustration of the community.
However, now that appears to be changing.
The new map in Warzone promises to be the biggest yet, and is not just another Verdansk remaster. Naturally following the Vanguard theme it will be WW2-based, and is said to be 'ambitious'.
Adding a new map to Warzone is something of a risk for Activision. If the new map doesn't convince players, it could lead to an exodus -- especially with the likes of Battlefield also on the cards.
Of course, it is also entirely possible that this new map acts a bit like Rebirth Island, and is for a specific mode that doesn't affect the globality of the game. It could even be part of a new map rotation, similar to PUBG.
