While Elden Ring has so far sold over 12 million copies worldwide, far more than any other FromSoftware game, it looks like the license's success has only just begun. In a press release published for the occasion, the company and the creators of the game indicate the potential exploitation of the elements of Elden Ring for content "beyond the game" .
Elden Ring movies and series?
In the press release in question, it is possible to read "we hope that 'ELDEN RING' will develop further as an intellectual property (characters and other intellectual properties) in the hope of expanding beyond the realm of games" .
This announcement therefore translates quite explicitly the will of the developers and creators of the world of Inter-earth to expand the license, why not in film or in series?
Although we do n't yet have official information on the nature of said expansion "beyond the realm of games" , the presence of George RR Martin in the design team of Elden Ring greatly opens the field of possibilities.
Indeed, the writer is the author of the Iron Throne romance series, later adapted into what is surely one of HBO's biggest hits, Game of Thrones.
A few words from the CEO of Bandai Namco
Yasuo Miyakawa , CEO of BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. spoke about the success of Elden Ring, in the same press release.
Miyakawa's formulation remains vague as to what will be present in everyone's daily life. Is it Elden Ring or the Bandai Namco brand in general?
In any case, the universe of the game, which has become legendary in barely a month, will undoubtedly be exploited in the coming years. More information will therefore be revealed soon by FromSoftware . But what is certain is that fans of the license will be there!
