While there is a theory that George RR Martin named most Elden Ring bosses after his initials, the writer finally revealed the true story on his blog.

Elden Ring: Did the author of Game of Thrones really give his name to the bosses of the game?

The Underworld is a vast world filled with mysteries and above all with bosses, each more formidable than the next. Between Malenia, Radagon of the order, Margit, Godfrey or even Radahn, there is nothing to get bored of. Additionally, several players have noticed that the majority of super-powered bosses in Elden Ring have either " G ", " R ", or " M " initials, the same as one of the game's creators, George RR Martin.

Coincidence or not?

Is the fact that the initials of bosses Elden Ring and George RR Martin are similar a coincidence... or not? On this subject, the father of the books that inspired the Game of Thrones series spoke on his blog.

There's a weird story on the internet that I "hid" my initials in Elden Ring because...ah...some of the characters have names starting with R, or G, or M. I say, "Hey? What? Really?" It was news to me. I've been writing and publishing stories since 1971, and I guess I've given my characters names starting with R, G, and M from the start. It's hard to come up with names, especially since "A Song of Ice and Fire" uses so many of them, and I like to give my family members and loved ones names that have something in common. …but really, why should I hide my name in-game? My name is right there ON the game, as one of the creators. Hey, Elden Ring is exciting enough as it is, no need to make stuff up.

The theory is then officially false , because debunked by the creator of the names in question himself. It is true that after 50 years of creation, the writer must sometimes lack inspiration when it comes to finding names for his projects.
