Can you play Elden Ring on the Steam Deck?

Elden Ring, we don't present it anymore. It's a phenomenal success all over the world, becoming FromSoftware's best-selling game, just less than a month after its release.

The game is compatible with the Steam Deck, however, some user complaints have recently been registered by Valve . Were reported in particular display problems and image jumps on which the company says it is actively working. But where are they today?

"The experience was very smooth"

In an interview for Eurogamer , Pierre-Loup Griffais, coder at Valve, spoke about the company's efforts to improve the playability of the game Elden Ring.

“The recent example we highlighted has more to do with the game creating several thousand resources in certain places causing our memory manager to run amok trying to manage them. elements more aggressively now, which seems to have helped a lot. I can't say if this is the same issue the game is having on other platforms, but we played Deck with all of those elements in place and the experience was very smooth."

Steam Deck users playing Elden Ring have reported numerous frame drops and other display glitches. Regarding this, Bandai Namco said in a statement : " We will constantly work to improve the game so that it can be played comfortably on different PC environments and platforms ".

After the recent v1.03 patch, Bandai Namco says it wants to release many more soon in order to offer an optimal gaming experience to the adventurers of the Underworld.

In the meantime, on the Elden Ring Steam page, the game is listed as being fully compatible with the Steam Deck. Most of the issues players are experiencing appear to have been resolved or are in the process of being resolved. So you can try the adventure!
