One more feat has just been accomplished in Genshin Impact! While we thought we had done the rounds with some players who attack the most formidable bosses of Elden Ring with a branch or others who speedrun the game in less than 23 minutes, a Youtuber by the name of Seki comes to finish the game in no-hit.
Seki is not at his first attempt. On other FromSoftware games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the Youtuber had already performed many no-hit and/or no-damage runs, i.e. without suffering any damage . Indeed, if the player suffers damage on the ground such as a plant that poisons him or a fall that is a little too long, he must start the run again. The feat that has been achieved this weekend is all the more remarkable.
Looking at Seki's run, finishing Elden Ring in under 3 hours without taking any damage would seem almost easy. The streamer revealed to Kotaku that it took him more than 130 hours of training to complete this epic run. "The no-hit/no damage run is more difficult than a regular no-hit run, as the player cannot take environmental damage such as fall damage, poison, etc. This adds difficulty to performance because I don't have access to certain buffs that could potentially increase my damage if I was low on health," he said.
A world record?
In a tweet, Seki said he had achieved a first world record in his category, ie in no-hit, no-damage runs without resorting to any glitches. "I did the run!!! A world first in no-hit/damage on Elden Ring," he wrote.
However, Seki may not be the first to achieve such a feat… A Youtuber named GinoMachino performed a similar, but not identical, run on Elden Ring on March 13th. However, he still resorted to some glitches, which were then canceled by patch 1.03. After this update, GinoMachino then performed a run without any glitches, this time taking fall and terrain damage, so no-hit but not no-damage.
Seki is therefore indeed the first to accomplish such a feat in its own category.
According to him, the most difficult part of this run is still the very end, with the confrontation against the Elden beast: "He has a specific move which is infamous: Elden Stars. One of the only ways to "To avoid is to stagger him while he is casting the spell. It took dozens of hours of practice and precise training to pull off this move."
After all this effort, Seki says he wants to take a rest, or at least take the time to explore all the wonders of the Underworld. He concluded by saying, "I can't wait to see the community work together to invent new strategies to circumvent game mechanics." So are we, and we'll be there to let you know!
