Available since February 11 in the West, Lost Ark has attracted a large audience. Despite the start-up problems, in particular the extremely complicated access to saturated servers, Smilegate's MMO has managed to win back players to ensure a minimum of sustainability, with an average of 325,000 simultaneous connections over the past thirty days.
If the publisher does not want the hype to fall, it will therefore have to offer new content regularly and be original. That's why on April 11 the YouTube channel Lost Ark published a video about the basics and updates of competitive PvP. However, it was not really the content that caught the attention of players, but rather a detail in the game's interface .
A Battle Pass coming soon?
Massively shared on Reddit, it seems that the video extract showing the game's interface for PvP did not reveal more information than expected. Indeed, at the top right of the screen, there is an icon called " Ark Pass " which does not currently exist in game. Even if Smilegate has not yet communicated anything on this subject, most players are already convinced that it is a Battle Pass which will therefore appear soon.
We already know the publishers' roadmap for April and May and there's no mention of a Battle Pass being added, so this feature would n't arrive until June at the earliest . Classic option of free-to-play games, its deployment on Lost Ark would not really be a surprise. The players especially hope that if it comes into play, the function remains reasonable and optional , otherwise the balance of the game risks taking a big hit.
For those who don't know, a Battle Pass is a service that can be purchased for real money and allows players to unlock more content than the base game offers. Cosmetics, experience bonuses, gifts... The goal is to give an advantage to players who pay in order to finance the game in part. We therefore find this option in many Free-to-Play.
