Elden Ring players never cease to amaze us and continue to create mods of all kinds! Recently, we introduced you to the new coop mod, or even the "Item Randomizer", which allows you to redistribute the cards and thus spawn enemies and objects in different places in the Underworld. Today it's a more than creative mod that caught our attention because it allows you to transform Elden Ring into a survival game!
Survival in the Underworld
This is a feature that you can discover thanks to the "Survival Mode" mod, created by Grimrukh , the originator of many mods on Dark Souls games, including the famous "Daughters of Ash" . The latter offers its players a whole new vision of the adventure in the Underworld. To survive there, you must craft your weapons, feed yourself, or even prepare medicine so that your Shinless does not fall ill. If you can't provide for your character's basic needs… he will die tragically.
Through this post, shared by the author of the mod, it is possible to observe the different specificities of survival in the Underworld.
- Survival: Craft items to fight hunger, thirst, and/or survive extreme temperatures. Torrent, your mount, is also much slower than in the original game.
- Weapons: Weapons cannot be found or purchased and must be crafted from new materials and other "basic" weapons.
- Diseases: You can catch various diseases randomly in different areas and must find recipes for crafted remedies in order to cure yourself.
-
Darkness: The night is much darker and some areas can therefore be much scarier than usual.
FromSoftware's latest game is thus transformed into a real survival game, like Rust, Ark: Survival Evolved, or The Forest. A feature that adds an ounce of difficulty to your adventure in the Underworld!
How to get the survival mod?
Available since last Monday, "Survival Mode" is downloadable from NexusMods . Each feature of this survival mode is optional, and players can choose which ones they want to activate… or not. The creator of the mod also said that he would soon share the codes of his project on GitHub, so that the community can modify it at will and why not develop it to improve survival there. We can't wait to see what surprises Elden Ring players have in store for us!
