In a few days the IEM Cologne will be launched. With its 24 teams and its million cash prizes to be won, this tournament can roll mechanics. It is not a "Major", but it remains of paramount importance for many teams. It is also rumored that after this one, several rosters could be turned upside down; especially those who will miss their performance in Germany. In France, we will look carefully at the results of Team Vitality and G2 Esports , two teams where there are tricolors in potential danger. Bees and Samurai are competitors in the field, but they are currently experiencing a bit of the same fight.
The tournament has taken a bit of a head start to present 21 talents who will be involved in the production. Commentators, analysts, host on stage... They will be a lot to make us live this competition with passion. One name caught our attention: Eefje " sjokz " Depoortere. The Belgian is a key figure in League of Legends and she is again this year in the team that broadcasts the LEC. But for the past few months, she has also been involved in the competitive CS:GO scene.
Sjokz fell in love with CS:GO
A few weeks ago, Sjokz had agreed to participate in the Major in Antwerpen, rather than traveling to South Korea for the MSI. The tournament is struggling to get people excited, but if she skipped it, it was above all because she didn't want to miss the first Major in history in her native country. It can easily be understood and when we saw the fiery atmosphere there was on site, we can't blame Sjokz for his choice. On the other hand, Sjokz has no real connection with Cologne and Germany. His involvement in the tournament may therefore mean something else...
The Belgian is still very connected to the LEC and the world of League of Legends. But at 35 , she may have gone around the question. The idea of discovering new horizons is always there. In addition, the MOBA tries to renew itself season after season. There are more and more new faces on the analysis set and we know that in the past, contractual questions have been put on the table between the production team and Sjokz. Without speaking of conflict, it would seem that the two sides are much more independent today than they were in the past.
