The Yo-kai Watch event is back in Final Fantasy XIV and here is everything you need to know about the event and how to get the exclusive rewards!
The event will be available from August 19 at 1 am and will last until the release of Patch 5.4.
FFXIV Yo-Kai 2020 Event Guide
To start the event players above level 15 will need to talk to Poor-heeled Youth, an NPC located in the Steps of Nald in Ul'Dah (X: 9.2 Y: 9.1)
The first step of this quest is to talk to the Nohi, the Wandering Executive in the Gold Saucer (X: 5.2 Y: 6.9).
Completing the first step of the quest will give a Yo-kai Watch and a Yo-kai Medals.
How to get Yo-kai Minions
The first step in this event is to get the exclusive minions. To get those you will need to farm Silver and Gold FATES with your new watch equipped in specific areas:
- A Realm Reborn: La Noscea, The Black Shroud, and Thanalan only.
- Heavensward: FATES from everywhere
- Stormblood: FATES from everywhere
Your first Minion will only cost one medal but the price will rise to three medals for the remaining Minions.
How to get the Yo-kai Weapons
To get the exclusive weapons including the 4 new weapons introduced in this 2020 edition you will need to summon your newly acquired Minions.
Every Minion is linked to a specific weapon so just like you did to get the medals you'll be asked to clear FATES around the world with your Yo-Kai minion.
Clearing a FATE with your Yo-kai minion will get you a legendary medal that can be exchanged for an exclusive weapon.
Yo-kai Watch Mounts: Whisper-go, Whisper A-go-go, and Jibanyan Couch
Three mounts are available during this event and obtaining them will ask for quite a bit of farming, here how to get them:
- Whisper-go: You will need to get 13 different Yo-kai minions
- Whisper A-go-go: You will need to get 13 different Yo-kai weapons
- Jibanyan Couch: You will need to get the 17 Yo-kai weapons
