There is no limit to the number of compositions you can build in Teamfight Tactics. Today, we are focusing on a lineup centered around Rengar as your hypercarry. Leap, kitty cat, destroy them all!

LoL, TFT — Embrace your inner wilderness with the Jungle Void composition!

In a certain way, Teamfight Tactics is similar to a mind-breaker, or to a Rubik's Cube: you want to achieve a certain result but there are absolutely no limits to the number of situations that you may encounter. However, it does not mean you should not aim for a specific composition while developing your strategy.

In this article, we will cover the "Jungle Void" composition — a lineup that combines the Void and the Brawler traits, while spicing it up with the Wild and Assassin traits.

Core Lineup

Once you have assembled this lineup, your composition will benefit from the following buffs:

Void

(3) Void — All Units Deal True Damage

Brawler

(4) Brawler — Brawlers get +700 Bonus Health

Wild

(2) Wild — Wild allies only gain 10% Attack Speed (stacks up to 5 times)

Assassin

(3) Assassin — Assassins get 125% Critical Strike Damage

This composition appeared with Patch 9.15, benefiting from the Void rework and the overall champions buff (except Akali and Warwick, all champions from this composition got a buff).

  • Keep in mind that your carries are Cho'Gath and Rengar — meaning you should always aim at giving the most items you can. Cho'Gath is one of the strongest champions of the current meta. Even though his ability got nerfed, he's still doing monstrous damage while having the best CC AoE from the game. Also, with the Brawler bonus, his tankiness defies physics laws.
  • If you manage to acquire a three-stars Kha'Zix then it might be a good idea to equip him with some items instead of your Rengar. Otherwise, the kitty cat will get its claws out and be your war machine.

From Level 7 to Level 9

It's pretty rare to reach such a level in Teamfight Tactics, but it does not mean that it's impossible — especially if you manage to get your hands on a Force of Nature. As an eighth and ninth unit, you can:

  • Complete the (4) Wild buff with a Gnar and an Ahri
  • Add the Guardians duo — Braum & Leona — to your lineup
  • Add a Kayle, a Yasuo or any Tier 5 unit that can act as a solo carry.

Items

There are no real mandatory items to make the composition work. You can try to get three Youmuu's Ghostblade if you want to reach (6) Assassins but we wouldn't recommend it. We would rather suggest the following items:

Kha'Zix

Rengar

Cho'Gath

  • Rapidfire Cannon is the most important item of Cho'Gath because it allows you to keep him in the backline — meaning it will take more time from him to actually take damage.
  • If you can't manage to get a lot of Bow, then go for Rods: they will help you build Morellomonicon and Rabadon
  • Overall, do not hesitate to check our dedicated items guide if you feel lost!

Aiming at Top 1, step by step

Early-game

  • Aim at Tier 1 Champions such as Kha'Zix, Warwick or Nidalee
  • Aim at Tier 2 Champions such as Rek'Sai and Blitzcrank
  • Nidalee is really strong in early-game thanks to her heal, especially because she will synergize with Warwick to unlock the (2) Wild buff. However, she will quickly fall behind — meaning you should ditch her for Rengar as soon as possible.
  • If you're getting a lot of Tier 1 Champions, it might be a good idea to roll the shop a few times: if you manage to get a three-stars champion, he will probably carry you until late game.
  • Otherwise, you will need to level-up 'on curve' — meaning you will only spend gold for experience when you need 4 EXP.

Mid-game

  • If you managed to get your lineup early, you should be snowballing quite hardly — except if some guy is high rolling the game.
  • You will probably need to roll the shop a bit in order to get all your champions to reach the two-stars stage. As soon as it is done, try to build your economy by protecting your interest.
  • Riding the losing streak is not pleasant but it might help you get the golds you need to make your comeback, so try to plan ahead — especially if you're considering switching from composition to another.

Late-game

  • Try to figure out what is your objective: can you reach Top 1? Should you aim Top 4 instead?
  • Ask yourself this question: "What is my best upgrade?" Should you level-up to bring an eight champion onto the board? Or perhaps, is it better to roll the shop in order to get three-stars?
  • If you feel you won't finish the game in the Top 3, do not forget to use all your left golds: they will be completely useless once the last round starts.

Positioning

Because it mainly depends on your opponents — on which composition they're currently playing but also how they position — there are no perfect positioning. However, there are some general rules that you should probably follow:

  • Your Assassins will jump toward the unit that is diametrically opposed to them: if they're on the left, they will jump on the right side of your opponent's composition.
  • Thanks to Rapidfire Cannon, you can put your Cho'Gath within your second line instead of your frontline. This will allow him to deal more damage before getting hit.
  • Blitzcrank will always grab the champion who's the farthest from him: beware of your opponent positioning if you don't want to grab a Darius or a Garen 'inside' your lineup.
Patch 10.5 Composition Tier List — Last round before Galaxies

Following Patch 10.4, Glacials rose to the top — and Patch 10.5 wasn't enough to change absolutely anything. Poison Glacials still dominate the meta — and it's not even questionable.
