While the 5.3 for Final Fantasy XIV has been delayed because of the current health crisis, today's Producer Live Letter reveals a lot of new content for the upcoming patch.
Reflections in Crystal, the end of Shadowbringers story
This story will ask you to have cleared both the crystal tower and the "My Little Chocobo" quests and developers advice that you complete those before the update.
A new dungeon: The Heroes' Gauntlet
This dungeon will be playable with the trust system and developers mentioned it to be linked with the Lakeland but didn't give more details just yet.
New Beast Tribe
The Dwarves join the list of the beast tribes you will be able to work with. While the last tribe was focused on gatherers, the Dwarves will be focusing on the crafters. The tribe will be located where you can actually find the Dwarves in 5.2, more information will follow in the next Live Letter.
New main story instanced duty
The 5.3 Patch will not include any Trial but a specific MSQ tied instanced fight with what looks like the last boss of the Shadowbringers story. Boss that the developers said would be hard to guess the identity.
YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse Chapter 02
With 5.3 will come the second chapter of the Nier Automata 24 player raid. This Alliance Raid will take place in the Puppets' Bunker.
First Step of the Resistance Weapons Relics Upgrade
With 5.3 for Final Fantasy XIV, you will be able to upgrade for the time your newly acquired relic. The process will be available in two different ways that will be explained in more detail during the newt Live Letter. On the other hand, we already know that a specific area working like Eureka (in the way 100 people will join the same instanced zone.)
The new fied will be called "The Bozjan Southern Front" and will have its own specific way of farming your upgrade.
A Realm Reborn Rework and Crafters / Gatherers Update
An update is planned for A Realm Reborn quests and story to make it easier for new players to get to the latest content. The ARR story had long quests that were not judged necessary for players and developers announced having removed 13% of them, shortening others and granting more gear to ease the progression.
Gatherers and Crafters will also receive an update with quality of life changes: Being able to trial a craft without having the materials or looking for a recipe by using a material in your inventory.
More updates and reveals are to come in the Part 2 of the 5.3 announcements in the next Live Letter.
