The PS5 is coming soon and Final Fantasy XIV players will still be able to journey across Eorzea on the Next-Gen console from Sony.
If you already own FFXIV on PS4 you'll be able to play the game using backward compatibility and here is how.
How to install FFXIV on PlayStation®5
To play FFXIV on PS5 you will only need to install the game on your PS5 choosing one of these options:
- For the Physical Version of the game, inserting the disc in your PS5 will install the game.
- For the Digital Version, you'll need to visit the game library and install the game.
With this, you'll be able to play the game just like you used to on your PS4 with only one exception: Your character settings will not automatically be transferred.
In order to keep your hotbars, menus, and UI settings you will need to use the Server Backup option to upload your settings.
Once uploaded from your PS4 you'll be able to download your settings on your PS5 using the same system and play just like on your PS4.
