After the release of the first trailer, earlier today, we continue to know more about FIFA 22. One of the open questions by players was if this entry is going to keep VOLTA FOOTBALL, the mode that is a homage to the classic FIFA Street series. Luckily enough, the answer is positive.
In a recently uploaded FAQ about Dual Entitlement, the cross-save feature coming to the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 22, the return of this mode was confirmed. Plus, users that purchase the said edition will be able to transfer their progress from PS4 to PS5 and back or from Xbox One to the Xbox Series and back.
While VOLTA FOOTBALL has been around for a couple of FIFA entries now, the thought of losing specific content is always present with these games. Furthermore, there aren't many words from EA about this mode, generally speaking, so the fans had their doubts.
On another topic, it’s worth mentioning that FIFA 22 will feature a limited crossplay depending on which platform and which version you are playing. For example, if you purchase the PS4 version, you will be able to play against PS5 users and vice versa (via retrocompatibility). However, if you buy the PS5 version, you’ll only be competing against other PlayStation 5 users. The same applies for the Xbox owners.
You can read more about this and other details in the following FAQ. FIFA 22 Standard Edition will release on October 1, while the Ultimate Edition will give an early access on September 27.
