With FIFA 22 getting an official announcement yesterday, alongside the return of a popular game mode and a Nintendo Switch Legacy version, now there's news that's sure to frustrate PC players.
To begin with, it was revealed that FIFA 22 won’t have the new “HyperMotion” technology on PC. This feature, which consists of visual improvements to player animations and movement, will be exclusive to the PS5, Xbox Series and Stadia versions of the game.
The other most important announcement is that this version will also have a quite restrictive DRM (Digital Rights Management) system in place. The game's description on Steam (picture below) informs players that there’s a “1 machine activation limit”, meaning that you won’t be able to have it installed on multiple computers at the same time.
While EA hasn’t been public about this new DRM addition, fans’ responses have already started. You can get an idea what they think about this change on this subreddit.
For those who don't know much about DRM, it's a system is used by companies to fight against piracy. However, sometimes its implementation causes more issues for loyal consumers than solutions.
FIFA 22 will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S&X, Stadia and Nintendo Switch on October 1. Those who purchase the Ultimate Edition will received an early access on September 27.
