If you have just started Pokémon Legends Arceus or even if you already have several hours of play, it is time to know the few errors that you absolutely must avoid during your adventure. Not taking advantage of Distortions, cutting the sound or never changing the attacks of your creatures... Here are 11 mistakes not to make to get the most out of Hisui.
Mistake number 1: Not expanding your inventory
From the start of the game, you can add inventory slots to your bag. This obviously costs a few Pokédollars (and it's getting more and more expensive) but it's important to do so if you want to store as many unique resources as possible during your adventure.
Also note that you can regularly return to the bivouac in order to deposit items in your storage box so that you do not lose them if you die. This is an opportunity, for example, to secure your nuggets, star pieces and other Exp candies that you are not going to use immediately.
Mistake number 2: Not picking up everything
Once you have enough room in your inventory, don't make the mistake of missing out on a few useful resources while exploring. Everyone has their own way of playing, of course, but we advise you to take a few seconds to recover the Pebbles (orange rocks), the Apricorn (trees with red berries), the Pieces of Iron or even the Healers ( herbs). These resources will be useful for crafting PokéBalls and Potions.
Mistake #3: Not Talking to Village NPCs
Once Hachécateur appeased, remember to talk to all the NPCs in the village of Rusti-Cité to unlock certain options such as the Orchard for example which will allow you to collect precious resources regularly. Some locals will also give you side missions and others will allow you to buy important items. The Ginko merchant on the left, for example, offers you a rare lot every day and he notably sells useful household appliances at Rotom (we will come back to this in another guide).
Lady Ulette, to the right of the Dojo, offers you Amulets granting certain nice bonuses, while the stand below the Dojo allows you to buy evolution items in exchange for Good Deeds Points.
Mistake number 4: Waiting before doing side missions
Did you just take a side mission? Do not delay in realizing it if the latter is simple! Not only will this allow you to obtain useful items for your adventure from the start (potions, balls, reminders, etc.) but certain quests will also allow you to upgrade the city by offering more products to sell in the shops per example, more clothing options etc.
Mistake number 5: Not using teleportation
Different teleport points (blue wing on the map) will unlock as you progress through the main scenario. Don't forget to use them regularly in order to return to the camps to store your rare items in the chest, change your team if necessary and heal your Pokémon instead of using Potions. Also remember to change the weather in order to capture creatures exclusive to night or day, for example.
Mistake number 6: Releasing all your Pokémon
When you have 4 boxes fully filled with Pokémon at the Pasture Ground, you will unlock Mass Release as well as Massive Appearances. That being said, remember to keep at least one copy of each species of Pokémon you capture: this will often allow you to complete side quests. This does not mean that nothing should be released, on the contrary. Each freed creature will bring you Sand, Pebble or Rock Effort to increase the statistics of your monsters.
Mistake number 7: Muting the sound
The Pokémon Legends Arceus OST is a pure marvel. This is of course subjective but note that it is important to leave the sound of the game for a very specific reason: to be able to hear the appearance of a shiny ! Indeed, the display distance is not very great and it is difficult to clearly see the Pokémon that we meet (especially on the back of Guériaigle). On the other hand, even if you don't immediately see a shiny Pokémon, you will inevitably hear it with its flashy noise of little stars. If you hear this sound, save immediately and then search for the Pokémon to capture it.
For information, the base chance of encountering a shiny wild Pokémon (without mass appearance or chroma charm) is 1/4096.
Mistake number 8: Not using markers
By opening your Map, you can place markers everywhere to identify rare Pokémon or good ingredient spots. However, the limit is 20 markers and we advise you to use them mainly to mark the places where you have found Flames . So when you have to look for the latest with the help of a guide, you will know exactly which ones you already have or not.
Mistake number 9: Not using Ursaluna often enough
After Cerbyllin, you will unlock the Ursaluna mount. Although it is much slower and therefore quite frustrating to explore with it, it is a very useful Pokémon that will allow you to dig up as many resources as possible on a regular basis.
Mistake number 10: Not recovering lost satchels
When opening your Map, you will regularly see small lost items scattered around the area. It is very important to collect them each time since they will allow you to earn Good Deed Points. PBAs can then be used at the stand below the Dojo to purchase Evolution Items .
Mistake #11: Missing Space-Time Distortions
Space-time rifts will occasionally open up as you explore an area. Their spawns are very rare and you have 5 minutes to reach them before they start. Once inside, time is also limited there and you will have to collect as many objects as possible and capture the rare Pokémon that you come across like Porygon or Magneti which only spawn here for example.
As you will have understood, it is essential to go to Distortions for two reasons:
- Collect Shards (useful for crafting Star Pieces that sell for a lot of money), Nuggets and evolution items,
- Capture Pokémon that only appear in Rifts.
