How about talking a little more about Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy this weekend? Let's pretend we haven't seen the umpteenth articles and speculation about its postponement to 2023 and instead focus on something factual and truthful. The official Twitter account of the game shared this Friday the 4 coats of arms that the prestigious houses of Hogwarts will wear in 1890 , the time during which the scenario takes place. Potterheads will immediately notice the stark difference in design between these old patterns and those seen in the saga, but, fortunately, the animals in each house are of course identical.
The four "new" house emblems in Hogwarts Legacy
Inspired by the famous coats of arms created by JK Rowling when writing her work, the designers of the Hogwarts Legacy video game have revisited them in their own way. Below, you can see in very good quality, the 4 house logos that were embroidered on the school uniforms of Hogwarts wizards and witches in the 1890s. Slightly more minimalist versions than those seen in the films for example but quite charming.
- Gryffindor : This house has the lion as its emblem and its colors are red and gold. Students going to Gryffindor are generally brave, courageous and determined. The official ghost of the house is none other than Nearly Headless Nick, who is also seen in the trailer.
- Ravenclaw : With blue, silver and an eagle, this house brings together serious, intelligent, creative, original and above all very curious and wise students. The ghost is the Gray Lady.
- Hufflepuff : With its yellow and black coat of arms adorned with a badger, this house is often neglected while its students are full of qualities such as loyalty, patience, a taste for hard work, honesty and tolerance. The associated ghost is the Moine Gras.
- Slytherin : Green, silver and snake are the hallmarks of this house. Some students are known to speak Parseltongue and the qualities valued are greatness, cunning, ambition and pride. The ghost is the Bloody Baron.
Choose your house in Hogwarts Legacy
Even though the long gameplay trailer from the start of the year allowed us to learn a lot more about the game and to see a house distribution ceremony with the Sorting Hat again, there is nothing to tell us how the distribution will be done in Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. From what we can assume, it is that we will have to select a house ourselves when creating our character and, we hope, have to answer a short questionnaire to influence the final choice, unless perhaps a connection to Pottermore (Wizarding World) is necessary?
