This New World trade levelling guide focuses on Armoring, the profession that allows players craft several types of armor and valuable storage bags.
While there are several ways to increase proficiency, it will help those who want to level up their Armoring skill without committing too many resources to unnecessary recipes.
NOTE: New World recipes such as those below simply ask for materials of a certain tier, e.g. "Tier 2 Metal, Water Arcana" etc.
We've listed the more common material as it's usually cheaper/easier to obtain. However, prepare for a very, very significant grind.
For example, where we've put 'Coarse Leather', you could use Rugged Leather, Ragehide, or even epic materials such as Scarhide. The same goes for the Arcanas - you could use Water Motes, Water Wisps, Water Essence or Water Quintessence.
The type you use will affect the gear score of the piece.
Tips for Leveling
First up, recycling your creations will mean you can recover a portion of the materials you've used in crafting them.
It's also worth checking the Trading Post to see if a particular creation is in demand at that moment -- if so, your levelling could have a money-spinning bonus aspect to it.
Some components are plentiful within chests, so make sure you head out on quests and open all the chests you can find.
Linen is derived from Fibers, which can be gathered from Hemp Plants that are plentiful all over Aeternum. Make sure you collect them whenever you see a plant!
You'll find Silk Threads -- necessary for refining Silk -- when gathering Silkweed Plants. These are particularly plentiful in Eastern Brightwood, across Southern Mourningdale and Northern Restless Shore, and Cutlass Keys, among others.
Cloth Weave, such as Crossweave, can be found in supply containers all over the world. Make sure you hoard it so that you have enough to advance your Armoring!
Finally, you'll see the base materials for each component added in brackets, giving you an idea of how much you'll need should you choose to farm everything for yourself. While the requirements are high, they'll just cost time -- whereas buying everything could cost thousands!
