As you progress through Final Fantasy XIV's story the second trial you will have to clear is Hydaelyn and fighting her is going to take more effort than the normal version of the fight for sure.
But before going in and fight the warrior of light's mommie you will first need to unlock the extreme difficulty and here's how you can do just that.
FFXIV unlocking Hydealyn Extreme
To unlock this trial you will need to head to Old Sharlayan and talk to the Wandering Minstrel located at X: 12.7 Y: 14.3. This is not really a quest as you will simply need to talk the npc.
Once that's done you will be able to enter the trial if you meet the following requirements:
- Play a level 90 class
- Reach 560 minimum item level
The trial is a eight players duty that can drop a few items.
FFXIV Hydaelyn Extreme Loot
While completing the duty you may loot:
- An Hydaelyn totem per kill (100% chance)
- A weapon for random classes (100% chance)
- A weapon chest (100% chance)
- The Hydaelyn extreme exclusive lynx mount
- An orchestrion roll
- The crafting material for the bard and trophy
- The Triple Triad Card
